How it Works: Our brains are wired to recognize patterns and fill gaps in information based on previous experience. If we see an incomplete circle, we perceive it as a full circle, even if parts are missing.
In Design: Designers can use this principle to create logos, icons, or images that are not fully drawn but are recognizable due to the viewer’s natural tendency to complete the shape. This adds visual interest and simplicity.
Example: Think of the famous “WWF” panda logo—it’s not fully drawn, yet we instantly recognize the animal because our brain completes the missing parts.
