How it Works: The human brain naturally associates nearby objects as being connected or part of a pattern. For example, if you see a group of dots clustered together and another group further away, you’re likely to view them as two separate groups.

In Design: Designers often use proximity to organize information. In user interfaces (UI), buttons or links that perform related functions are placed near each other so users instinctively understand they belong together.

Example: Think of how items are grouped on a website navigation bar. Grouping related links close together signals their relationship.
